• Day 1 (roughly 460 km)

Depart from Cape Town and drive eastwards via Clarens Drive, the beautiful coastal route between Gordonís Bay and Hermanus, a seaside holiday town where one can spot whales from land in the months from June to November. After lunch we drive on to Mossel Bay with a rest stop along the way at the Aloe Factory shop in Albertinia.

Clarens Drive - scenic mountains and shorelines
Hermanus - holiday town with markets and seasonal whale watching June - Nov
Overberg - miles of beautiful farmlands
Albertinia - thatching reed Industry and Aloe Vera Skin Products
Overnight - Mossel Bay

• Day 2 (roughly 210 km)

After breakfast we visit arguably the oldest post office in South Africa, the Post Office Tree and the site of the first landfall, made by the Portuguese explorer Bartholomew Dias in 1488 after landing in South Africa.
We then head inland towards the semi desert area of Oudtshoorn, also known as the Ostrich capital of the world. Here we visit the popular Cango Caves and an Ostrich show farm. After our activities in Oudtshoorn we head back to the coast via a different mountain pass known as the Outeniqua Pass with views of Wilderness on our way. Late afternoon we will arrive in Knysna with it's massive lagoon, guarded by two cliffs known as the "Heads".

Dias Museum - Old post office tree and Portuguese landfall
Oudtshoorn - Ostrich capital of the world
Cango Caves - Incredible rock and crystal formations
Ostrich farm - Meet the mystical birds up close
Overnight - Knysna

• Day 3 (roughly 260 km)

We explore Knysna and travel further along the Garden Route via Plettenberg Bay for a short visit. Then we traverse through magnificently scenic river valley passes. We visit the Tsitsikamma National Park (Khoisan for 'The place of much water') stretching over 100 km of wild and rocky coastline characterised by massive cliffs, narrow isolated beaches and shady indigenous forests along the river valleys. We have a look at the impressive Bungy Bridge and Stormsriver Bridge across the valley, towering hundreds of metres above the river. The final part of our journey takes us past a few coastal holiday villages to Port Elizabeth, also called the 'Friendly City' where the tour ends.

Knysna - The heart of The Garden Route with majestic views and forests
Plettenberg Bay - Named 'The Beautiful Bay' by the early Portuguese
Bloukrans Bridge - The world's highest bungy jump bridge
Tsitsikamma - miles of protected forests
Port Elizabeth - The Friendly City
